On the occasion of the IFA, which takes place from 2.9.2011 to 7.9.2011 in Berlin, LIEBHERR will be presenting lots of innovative ideas for the refrigeration, freezing and wine storage sectors to trade visitors and consumers in an exhibition area covering 1,700 sq.m in Hall 2.1. Liebherr will be displaying the latest highlights in its extensive range of refrigerators and freezers.

For years now, Liebherr has been the manufacturer offering the widest range of refrigerators and freezers in the best energy efficiency classes. Over 50% of all Liebherr freestanding and built-in models are rated energy efficiency class A++/A+++.

Cooperating with energy utility EnBW “Energie Baden-Württemberg AG” in the context of the e-energy research project “MeRegio”, Liebherr-Hausgeräte has been conducting a pilot study with SmartGrid-ready upright freezers in 250 households since May 2010. SmartGrid-ready means that these appliances can be incorporated subsequently into future intelligent electricity grids with a retrofit module.
This technology enables Liebherr upright freezers to automatically use the low-cost electricity rate in each case. The customary temperature of -18°C in the upright freezer is also lowered in order to build up a cold reserve in the appliance.
